THE STORY
Early success in nashville
Kent signed with Brykas Records in the late 1980s in Nashville, TN. His first album produced two hit singles, “Two Cups of Coffee” and “Pathway of a Fool,” the latter reaching #1 on the country charts in June of 1990.
Recognized Talent
In 1988 and again in 1990, Kent was honored as “Male Vocalist of the Year,” receiving recognition from the Wyoming Rocky Mountain Country Music Foundation and the Major Independent Record Label Association.
A setback
While preparing for tour and a new single release, Brykas Records encountered financial and securities troubles and ultimately closed its doors. All the label’s assets were frozen, including Kent’s new music and plans.
Across the pond
After loss and uncertainty in Nashville, Kent moved to London with Prestige Records to continue his country music career far from the Record Label trouble.
Returning Home
Kent returned to the United States in 2009 with Spirit Wind records in New York to pursue his other musical talent, the native flute.
Award-winning artist
In 2009 he was the winner of the Native American Music Awards “Flutist of the Year” and three time nominee for “Artist of the Year”.
